Organic Preserves
The Way Mother Nature Intended

What are the advantages of Organic Food?

Better Health
- When you eat non organic foods, you eat pesticides and other synthetic chemicals that, in concentrations, are known carcinogens. One study by the Environmental Working Group found the residues of over 108 pesticides on a sampling of only 22 different fruits and vegetables. Eight of those pesticides exceeded the Environmental Protection Agency's lifetime level of acceptable risk.

Cleaner Environment - Non organic farming is one of the leading causes of surface and groundwater contamination. Only one percent of air-sprayed pesticides hits the targeted pests. This leaves 99% to contaminate soil, air, ground and surface water. Synthetic pesticides and fertilizers are often petroleum-based. Using organic foods helps reduce environmental contamination and dependence on foreign and domestic oil.

Quality Foods - It only makes sense that foods grown in non-contaminated, healthy, and well-balanced soils will be of high quality and taste better, too!

Community Investment - Buying organic foods promotes sustainable-farming practices. Although organic foods can cost more at the market, they cost much less in tax dollars and governmental budgets allocated to environmental cleanup and petroleum industry subsidies. Most organic farms are small family farms. Buying organic may be the best action one can take to preserve our family farm heritage.
